You don’t have to make as many, you can have a total of 3 frames for all I care. Open up your Animation/Timeline pallet and create 4 new frames so your total should be 5 frames. Now make your rain layer invisible (or just delete it), and then go to Layer>New Fill Layer>Pattern Fill. Name it whatever you want, then press ok. Sharpen your rain if you’d like, then go to Edit>Define Pattern. It’s ok if yours comes out looking like this, that’s where you use the Clone Stamp tool to fix it.Ħ. Mess with your settings until you get something like the image below. Next, I wanted my rain to have more of a pattern like feel, so I went to Filter>Other>Offset. What i did was go to Motion Blur and slanted the rain a little so it looks like it’s falling sideways (as rain does occasionally) instead of straight down. This next step is optional, but I did it just because it gives the rain a better effect. Now just repeat that step once more, then invert your photo so it’s black-white instead of white-black (as shown above). I put the mode on Blast and have it go from the left, because I know once I rotate my image back, it’ll look like it’s flowing downwards.Ĥ. Once I pressed “Ok.” I rotated my entire image ( Image>Rotate>90CW). This is what my settings are for the rain.ģ. Doesn’t matter which because it isn’t going to effect the rain we are going to make. Create a new layer and fill it with a color. Normally your image won’t be naturally gloomy, so what I used was Hue/Saturation and the Level adjustments to make my photo more gloomy like. Open up your background image into photoshop. I’ll try to make this tutorial really simple for you.ġ. But I did find an alternative way and it was super easy! For those who prefer to work with the layers in your animation pallet, than these should be a slice of cake for you. When I was looking at the other tutorials, I wasn’t able to find the proper animation window because I suppose CS6 doesn’t support it anymore. Now normally I don’t use tutorials because I like to learn on my own, but I just got curious about how one would be able to make rain animated, if possible. I could not believe how easy it was to make animated rain such as this. Photoshop CS6 (can be translated onto other versions).
